If you want to get into the science, this type of therapy helps to regulate the autonomic nervous system. This means it can take people out of the sympathetic state (fight or flight/survival mode) and bring them into the parasympathetic state (rest and digest/peaceful state). This is important because before we can bring the mind and body to shift, we must create a safe foundation to do so.

Reiki and hypnotherapy can complement each other in several ways, enhancing the overall therapeutic experience for individuals. I believe we must honor ourselves as a whole, meaning mind, body and spirit.

1. Deep Relaxation: Reiki promotes deep relaxation and stress reduction by balancing the body’s energy centers (chakras) and promoting a sense of peace and calm. This relaxed state is highly conducive to entering hypnosis and achieving a deeper level of trance. It also helps to regulate the autonomic nervous system which is essential to making real change. You cannot accomplish much in survival mode aka the sympathetic state.
